Tom Keya


Tom’s role is predominantly business development including implementing the firm’s international growth strategy. He is also the firm’s Head of Litigation.

Tom is a ranked lawyer within various legal journals including the Legal 500.

Prior to this Tom was a Partner in a City of London firm’s Commercial Team and advised corporate, public and private clients on contentious and non-contentious commercial matters. His clients vary from EU-based companies, international and multinational corporations and family offices – with a particular focus on Africa, the Middle East, and the USA, particularly in New York, UAE, Nigeria, Angola and South Africa.

On aspects relating to general commercial litigation Tom advises clients on financial services disputes, construction and maintenance disputes; insolvency; basements; and IT disputes. He also advises on and negotiates commercial, construction and IT contracts. Tom has experience in handling a wide range of litigation cases and has dealt with cases in the County, Commercial, TCC, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. Tom also works very closely with our corporate team in relation to advising clients on sanctions and sanctioned companies in the Middle East and Russia.

By being involved in both contentious and non-contentious aspects of commercial law, Tom is able to provide clients with effective commercial advice tailored to their needs.

Tom leads our Basements practice which provides legal and professional advice to developers, private individuals, local authorities and old estates in relation to the construction and opposition of basements. His practice ranges from prime location London (such as Belgravia, Mayfair and Knightsbridge) to large commercial basements throughout the UK.

Tom is also a regular contributor to international commercial journals dealing with complex legal issues.


Tom is a member of the Worshipful Company City of London Solicitors company in his capacity as a Freeman and Liveryman. He is also a member of the British Iranian Chamber of Commerce and the London Chamber of Commerce.
